Sony KV-13VM20 13" CRT TV

Really nice, pleasant picture on this one...and the case is very cool! Work done: Selective Recap, Cleanout, Calibration (Color, Geometry, Convergence) and RGB Mod Inputs: 1x RF, 1x Composite, 1x RGB SCART Screen is in good shape Picture 4/5, very good Not working: VCR RGB mod: the sharpest picture this set can give. Red, green and blue are fed straight to the tube instead of being squeezed down a composite wire, so text is crisp and colors stay where they belong. Avoids built in color processing that can skew the look and push certain colors too hard. Eliminates things like luma shadow and other artifacts that degrade the picture and are symptoms of composite signals like RF, composite, Svideo and component. Feed it from a console with RGB out, or from a scaler like an OSSC or RetroTINK, or Mister FPGA or Raspberry PI, PC etc... Selective recap: the capacitors that measured out of spec, plus the known trouble spots for this chassis, replaced. Fixes the fault and heads off the usual failures. Cleaned out: chassis and cabinet blown out and washed down, decades of dust off the board and out of the vents. It runs cooler and it does not smell like a basement. Calibrated: greyscale set so white is actually white, geometry squared up so the picture fills the tube without bowing, and convergence aligned so the three colors land on top of one another.
